When someone arrives at Kos port he surrenders to its allure.The palm trees, the castle overlooking the harbor and the beautiful buildings between colonial and neoclassical styles give an impression of an exotic holiday destination. The Greek island was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1933. It is the third largest island in the Dodecanese, with an area of 290 sq. km and a population of about 30,000 people spread across three municipalities. Kos is filled with monuments symbols of its glorious past, dating from antiquity, the Byzantine Era and Venetian times up to present.
Many of the tourists come here for its beaches – the most popular beach is Paradise beach, a beautiful and sandy beach where you will find sun beds, water sports and an ideal place for families with children. Kardamena, Agios Stefanos, Kefalos and Lambi, are other well organized with tourist facilities beaches.
