Andros, the second largest Cyclades island, is only 2km from Rafina port in Athens, which makes it preferable destinations for Athenians. It has a lot of water springs which are the reason of the lush flora on the island – chestnut, walnut, oak, weeping willows, poplar, mulberry, and olive trees, fields of thyme, crocus and sage.
If you are here because of the beaches, you will not be disappointed – there are sandy and rocky ones, isolated and organized ones. Some of the most popular are Golden Beach, Agios Petros, Ahla, Vitali and Vlychada.
Apart from the beaches, you can visit the local museum of Modern Art, the Archaeological museum and the Olive museum.
